The Matrix (1999) 3.5/5
My Cousin Vinny (1992) 3/5
Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009) 1.5/5
Wake Up Sid (2009) 3.5/5
Little Zizou (2008) 2/5
Kaminey (2009) 3.5/5
This film will be remembered by me for its screenplay, the grunge and dark shades, and the gang-wars. Though the story line is very very simple, the twists and turns makes it intriguing. There are a lot of characters and their names to keep track of and add to the confusion. Every actor acted brilliant, and were given equal screen space. People said this film had violence, but I did not feel so. Its more of a thriller, and there had been more violent films in the past to excuse this film. Its altogether a family drama of gang people blended with beautiful background music.
Love Aaj Kal (2009) 3/5
Perfect Mismatch 2/5
Truly a baby owned by Anubhav Anand, because, it is his concept, his screenplay and he is also the lead actor in the film. The film starts out well, building the expectations and then frizzles in the second half. The perfect match and the mismatch is shown distinctly, but how the mismatch becomes a perfect match is not shown. The dragging at the end could have been avoided. In between, the love story gets drifted away and gets replaced by parental tone, which seemed a misfit in the film. Boman Irani and Anupam Kher were the only ones impressive though their ascent was India.
The Kite Runner (2007) 3.5/5
Though it would seem that this film is about Afgfhanistan and the Taliban rule, its more about childhood. The director has tried to accomodate many human emotions, like jealousy, brotherhood, friendship, trauma and the pathetic life of war-infected regions, the cruelty made in the name of God, and also a glimpse of remaining humanity. There are many events which remain incomplete and unanswered in the first half of the story. Though I have not read the book, I supposem the book would have more better descriptions about the depth of emotions undergone by the protagonists. The portrayal of cruel Taliban rule, grows onto your mind, making the film very touching and unforgettable.
The Hangover (2009) 2.5/5
Martian Child (2007) 3.5/5
At first you feel kinda boring and feel like shaking the boy, but then you realize the inner depths to which children get affected mentally and emotionally in their childhood.
Kate & Leopold (2001) 3/5
Silly movie, but a different theme. Reminds me of questions regarding re-births and soul mates..

Stepmom (1998) 3.5/5
Kikujirô no natsu (1999) 2.5/5
Though having a moving, emotional and good script, its too slow, and boring at times. The emotional bonding of the child with the man is visible towards the end.
Pretty Woman (1990) 4/5
The acting abilities of Julia Roberts in the two different roles is brilliantly visible in this film. A cute love story, leaves you like you just watched a Bollywood film with rags, riches, love story included.

Luck By Chance 3.5/5
good one. similar theme of Fashion movie, but the main character and the ending could have been more clearer.

The violence and war scenes leaves you depressed. Hence the low rating of say 6.5, but maybe its the untold story of the real.

Though its tragedy kinda theme, it was good in overall.

The comedy is good, but emotional part is not that quite visible, and the expected end doesn't leave you emotional, but rather puzzled like "what happened suddenly?"
Dostana (2008) 2/5
quite boring, though interesting topic dealing with gay, which always happens with Karan Johar's films

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) 3.5/5

The first beautiful film by Madhur Bhandarkar. Tabu is again silent, but portrays the deep hidden emotions beautifully.
